| Take a
deck of TRACS cards from your pocket and say, “This is my lucky
deck.” Mix the cards by cutting the deck several times, each time
placing the bottom group on the top group. Say, “I’ll show you how
it works.” Deal three cards to the table: a track (face down card), a
tread (face up card) and another track (face down card). Say, “The object of the TRACS game is to turn over a track,
left or right, trying to match the tread color in the middle. A match is
called a save and a mismatch is called a strike.” Ask
a spectator to choose a track and turn it over. After the turn (which
will produce a strike), say, “Tough luck. Want to try again?” Leave the
strike on the table but move it aside. Take the unturned track from
the table, place it on the bottom of the deck and cut the deck (placing
the bottom group on the top group). Have the spectator cut the deck (one
or more times). Deal the top three cards to the
table (track, tread, track) and ask the spectator to turn over a track
(left or right). After the turn (which will produce a strike), say,
“Tough luck. Want to try again?” Repeat until the spectator is impressed or until you have had enough. Every turn will produce a strike. Tell the spectator: “See. It’s my lucky deck. Not your lucky deck.” |
